Rockford, IL- Local activist and lifetime
Rockford resident, David Kelley was named Chairman of the
Libertarian Party of Illinois last weekend at the party's
annual convention. Kelley, 49, the proprietor of
Worldwide Refinishing Systems, has been involved in
politics as a Libertarian since 1980.
Kelley, a Vietnam-era veteran has run for several offices including Rockford City Council, Rockford School Board(both as a candidate and as an appointee), Lieutenant Governor, and Governor of the State of Illinois. This was his first time running for State Chairman.
About his election, Kelley stated, "my first project is bringing everyone together to work towards ballot access equalization." This project has been stated as the primary goal for the local chapter of the party as well.
